Part 1: Download for full view (large file!!!)

This is a screenshot step-by-step view on my making of the RPG-stallion Augastino Blues. All art belongs to me.

Screenshot 13:
Time for a bot of shadow, still using the same brush. Actually I won't change any brush setting from now, only the size of the brush depending if I'm painting a large or small surface.
This first shade is a bit darker than my base color, and almost the same amount of saturation.

Screenshot 14:
This layer of new color will help determine the body form and muscles, as it will make the difference between dark and light more smooth. But it will also provide depth to the areas that aren't in direct light, but which aren't in shadow either.

Screenshot 15:
This is how it looks like after finishing up with the first shade-color. As you can see, the horse is already starting to look more real than flat. But some deeper shadows is needed to show which legs are farther away from the viewer and give more depth.

Screenshot 16:
A new color pick, darker and a tiny bit more reddish to keep the tones warm.

Screenshot 17:
Once again I went over the coat with the darker shadecolor, giving it more "body".

Screenshot 18:
Another shade, even darker for shadows.
